Protecting our environment
Space Peptides is committed to act & operate socially and financially responsible towards all our stakeholder. Our strategic priority is the commitment to our environment while safeguarding the health and safety of employees, customers, and communities alike.
Our Commitment
Innovate responsibly; Grow sustainably
Environmental certifications
Chinese national and local environmental laws and regulations, especially since 2015, have led to some of the world’s most stringent environmental protection policies. Space Peptides is fully certified by the Chinese Environmental Protection Agency, undergoes regular inspections, and operates in strict compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Our facilities are designed to meet high environmental benchmarks, ensuring that sustainability is embedded in both practice and oversight.
Proactive commitment
Space Peptides is committed to operating in an environmentally responsible manner and continually improving its sustainability performance. We work closely with suppliers and partners to raise environmental standards and promote awareness across the value chain. By applying advanced computational modeling, we streamline synthesis efforts to focus only on the most promising compounds — reducing waste, conserving resources, and minimizing energy usage throughout our chemical processes.
Waste & emissions
Waste production is being kept at a minimum by tightly managing the type and amount of raw materials used, the way they are applied, and optimization efforts toward reuse and recycling. In peptide manufacturing, the recycling of Dimethylformamide (DMF) waste is a particularly important contributor and we currently manage to recover DMF at a 75% rate.
In all our activities, we follow the principles of sustainability and green chemistry to minimize our impact to the environment including Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.
In addition, we have direct access to local, state-of-the-art, chemical waste treatment & recycling infrastructure and other shared chemical production services as we are located – amongst many world-leading chemical production companies (e.g., BASF) – in the Chemical Industrial Park of the Jiangsu Coastal Economic Development Zone.
Importantly, we rely on local suppliers with close geographical proximity to our plant (e.g., DMF, acetonitrile, amino acids, trifluoroacetic acid suppliers, typically within 300 – 500 kilometer geographical distance)
Finally, we have systems and processes in place that prevent and mitigate accidental spills and releases of chemicals to the environment.
